Should you use Facebook for Online Marketing? Absolutely!
Facebook is the #1 Social Media sharing spot in the world. Facebook
has 1.28 billion active users every month and growing. Facebook has also grown
to a place where businesses can meet, share ideas and interact with each other.
But most important businesses can advertise and meet their future customers on
Facebook. So it makes sense for companies to market on Facebook. Facebook is a
great way to brand your company using Face book’s Fan Page or business page
integration. Marketing Facebook works. No doubt about it. It gets your business
name and product out there to 1.28 billion people.
Why Setting up a Fan Business Page vs. Business Profile is Better
Facebook accounts are free, but you can only have one
account. If you already have a personal Facebook page account, you will have to
create your business Fan page off that account. If you create more than one
account and Facebook catches you, they will disable or delete one or both
accounts. So if you do not have a personal account with Facebook, you can make
a business Facebook account for free. But beware….The business Facebook account
doesn't have all the functionality that a personal account does and it is
more restricted on what you can do. If you only join Facebook as a business you
are limited with some pretty cool features that are only offered on the
personal Facebook account, features that more benefit a business than a
personal profile account.
Some Facebook Marketing Strategies
Facebook “Likes” are an awesome way to market your
business and get your brand or product out there. It gets your business seen. You don’t have to
buy “Likes” and risk the chance of your page getting banned by Facebook.
There’s an easier and better way. On Facebook go to the search toolbar and type
in “Ladders” and look for all pages that are offering a ladder. A ladder is a
page where 100’s of businesses come together and “Like” each other’s pages.
Click on one of the ladders and ask to join the page. Some ladder example pages
are “Sprinkle me with fans”, “Ladder your way to the top”, “Promote my
Business”, “Purple Ladder”, etc. It’s a good way to interact with other
business owners. You could send them a message and say “Hi, gave you a “Like”
Nice to Meet You! Please visit my fan page so we can support each other ---Sign
using your business fan page name. This way they can come over and check your
site out. Don’t try to sell to them- you are just introducing yourself. They
will be curious enough to check your fan page out or they will ask you.
Another strategy is to join Facebook groups that are in your
niche. Once you are accepted into the group, you want to interact with the
group members. Make sure once you are accepted into the group you introduce
yourself (do this by using your business website link only) and thank them for
allowing you to join the group. You can also do some FREE advertising in those
groups! Each group has their own rules
and regulations on what you can or cannot do. Read over them and follow the
rules.
Another strategy is to find a viral video or picture and
share this and use only your business link in the caption box. Make sure the
video and pictures don’t have copy writes on them and you can share them
legally.
Find other business people and add them as friends or follow
them. Be careful with this. Facebook only allows so many friend requests sent
out each day. Stick to 10-15 friend requests a day and you should stay out of
Facebook Jail.
There are numerous other ways to use Facebook for your
marketing, just find the one that works best for you and your business.
